The form of the HT command is one of the following:
HT variable = labels,
HT table = labels,
HT = labels,
The HT command assigns text to be used to describe the columns of a table. The first two forms above assign text to a variable or table by name; in the third form, the text is assigned to the last variable or table defined.
HT texts are only used if assigned; you do not have to assign an HT to every table or variable. A warning appears if an HT is assigned to a suppress heading table (+T or F=CON) where it will not be used.
If an HT definition is assigned to a table or variable which already has an HT assigned to it, the new definition replaces the old one and a warning message appears.
HT texts appear at the top of the table, immediately after the IT (Identifier Title) and VT (Vertical Title) texts.
The HT when printed is preceded by the text assigned to special %HTP, see the chapter on special texts.
Format IBH (Indentation Before Heading) specifies the number of spaces to be inserted before each line of HT text.
Format PHT (Print Horizontal Title) controls whether the HT is printed.
Examples of HT commands:
ht ='Age, sex and social class',
ht = '<jr>Breakdown b',
