This represents one of the punch positions in a particular data location. There are 12 codes, called VX0123456789.

The V and X codes are sometimes referred to by other letters (for example Y and X), but in CL, you must use V and X, unless you are using a literal, when the character equivalents of V and X must be used ('&' and '-').
