Table texts

Tables may have texts assigned to them, to be used when the tables are printed.

The following titles may be assigned to a table:

IT        Identifier Title

VT        Vertical Title

HT        Horizontal Title

BT        Base Title

FT        Footnote Title

Tables also have label sets:

V        Vertical labels for stub

H        Horizontal labels for banner

These appear down the side and across the top of tables respectively.

Each of these texts may be assigned globally or to individual tables as required. If any of these texts are not assigned directly to a table then CL will use text associated with the stub or banner as follows:

VT        from stub variable (VT or XT)

HT        from the banner variable (HT or XT)

BT        from the stub variable (BT)

FT        from the stub variable (FT)

V        from the stub variable (V or X)

H        from the banner variable (H or X)

The BT may also be set from an FL text when a variable is used in a FILTER command.

Either a VT or an IT must be assigned to all tables, except suppress heading tables.

A stub label should be assigned to every distribution table, unless it consists only of a total row.

A banner label should be assigned to each table, unless it consists only of a total column, or is a suppress heading table.

Other texts to appear with the printed table are specified as specials, see the chapter on special texts.
