Context help - Make QIF

For details see Make QIF.

This will create a Classic input (.qif) for use with the Classic Input program, or Classic Telin program if accessed from the CATI menu.

It will also do the following when saved:

Copy all the relevant files from the project folder to the place where the QIF is saved

Create an empty main data file if necessary

Store the number in the serial number file (.qsn)

IMPORTANT: if interviewing has started using the files where they are to be stored, you must be careful not to overwrite them. Do not overwrite the following files unless you are sure that they have not been used for live interviewing:

The main data file

The serial number file

The sample data file and index (CATI only)

The quota file (CATI only)

You will be asked whether to overwrite these files when you save.

The project file (.qdf) will always be copied from the project folder to the destination folder.

IMPORTANT: all files copied will be copied from the project folder, not the Input sub-folder.
