% (special)

The form of the SPECIAL command is as follows:

%special = labels,

This command replaces the text for one of the specials. Special texts are names assigned to standard units of text such as the total row and column labels.

For the standard texts assigned to specials at startup, see Special texts .

A special text definition is rather like a GLOBAL definition, in that the text remains allocated to the special and so applies to all new tables defined thereafter, until a new definition occurs or until the end of the run. It can be set to blank if necessary.
