CPC is a character format. The standard setting is CPC'!'.

This character tells CL to treat the rest of the input CL script line as a comment.

Pre-processor commands are not affected and cannot be commented out other than with *SKIP commands.

This format needs one line following before the comment character can be used.

An exclamation mark may be included in text by preceding it with a grave character (`).
