TTT T Tests on Tables

TTT is a numeric format. The standard setting is TTT0.

See also format TTF.

TTT1 or TTT2 take effect when a number is used as the rows or row questions with special features V (value) set.

Formats SMA and SMB are used to mark cells which are significant.

The markers appear to the right of the cell value. If sufficient blank space is not available (the marker would be overwritten by the next cell, or would be beyond the page boundary) then an additional line is generated and the markers are placed right justified under the value. To avoid the generation of an additional we recommend using format CLG3 and CHG3 or more.

TTT0

This means that no calculations are done.

TTT1

Causes t-tests to be computed and printed for a table as a matrix. A t-test is computed for every pair of columns on the table except the total columns (if any).

In the matrix each row is labelled with the V label associated with the columns.

TTT2

Causes t-tests to be computed and printed for each group of headers (as specified by format SHG) as a matrix. A t-test is computed for every pair of columns within each header.

The rows are not labelled, only the upper right-hand half of the matrix is printed. Where format SHG is greater than zero, each group output starts on the same line.
