Exporting tables from CL

This is the facility of transferring tables created using CL into another software package, such as a spreadsheet, graphics or statistical package.

When your tables are displayed in a "View" window at the screen you can copy them to the clipboard from where they may be pasted into the other program.

To do this from the "View" window select [Edit] [Copy] and to copy a text file containing the tables to the clipboard, select [Text].

Tables created with CL have to be run and a Tables CSV file created using RCP CSV2 before they can be exported (other than as text).

To export the tables to a spreadsheet program, from the "View" window select [Edit] [Copy] [Spreadsheet]. At the "Spreadsheet output" dialog box you may choose to export any or all of the following from your tables - [Figures], [Vertical percentages] or [Horizontal percentages].

From the "View" window it is possible to export tables to the statistical program SPSS for Windows by selecting [Edit] [Copy] [For SPSS]. To use the exported tables, once in the SPSS program, open a syntax window and paste in the exported tables from the clipboard. Alternatively, if the tables cannot be pasted directly into SPSS (for example, the SPSS software is on a different, non-networked computer) you can paste the tables into a word processor, or the Windows notepad, and save the tables as an .SPS file (text only). This .SPS file can then be copied onto your hard disk or to a removable drive and used with SPSS as, and when, required.
