CL Window

Full CL version only

This window replaces the Classic QPSMR CL program.

It is reached from the Main window or when a CL script is opened.  If you do not have the full CL licence, opening a script will just run the script.

The CL window has a menu and a toolbar.

The main script in use is shown at the top.

Note that RCP OLDNAMES should no longer be used.

IMPORTANT: We recommend adding the letter I (CSV2I...) to the RCP which means the formatting will use the information line on each table to set the formats.  If CSV2I is not used then a dialog will appear to request the formats to use.

Opening a main script

When a new main script is opened and there is already one open (shown at the top) then a new CL window will be opened for the new script.

Editing script files

There are menu and toolbar options to edit the main script (.stpx), other scripts (PP insert files), and other files

Running the script

When the GO button is used from the toolbar it bring up the CL Run Options dialog and then runs the script.

Whilst a script is running the taskbar icon turns yellow.  When it is finished it will turn green (completed successfully) or red (failed).

You can cancel the run at any time using the Run menu.

When the run is finished and formatted tables were produced, these tables will be opened with the default program (usually Excel).

If formatted tables were not produced then the log file will be shown.

You can view the various output files using the toolbar.

Exporting the data

Provided you have not used RCP TIDY and you can successfully run a data stage you can export the files to Companion or Reflect and Companion will open the relevant files ready for use.

Help

You can access the CL help file index from the toolbar or menu.  Using the menu or the F1 key you can access the Companion help file.
