This describes the menu options on the CL Window.
This shows the CL Run Options dialog before running the script and displaying the output produced.
Opens the main script (.stpx) file in Notepad for viewing or editing. The file to be opened is shown above.
Asks you to choose a script file (.stp) and opens it in Notepad for editing. This option is used to view and edit inserted scripts.
Asks you to choose a file and opens it in the default program for that file type. This option is used to view and edit any other files.
Opens the file explorer in the current folder.
File, Companion open
Opens the Companion program in the current folder.
File, Exit
Closes the program.
Spreadsheet, Global settings
Displays the global Spreadsheet options which you can change. These settings will be used for every project unless overwritten by local or file specific options.
Spreadsheet, Local settings
Displays the local Spreadsheet options which you can change. These settings will be used for every project in this folder unless overwritten by file specific options.
Spreadsheet, This script only settings
Displays the file specific Spreadsheet options which you can change. These settings will only be used for this script.
Spreadsheet, Remove global settings
Deletes the global spreadsheet settings file which will no longer be used by any project. All projects will now use the program defaults unless overwritten by local or file specific options.
Spreadsheet, Remove local settings
Deletes the local spreadsheet settings file which will no longer be used by any project in this folder. All projects in this folder will now use the default settings unless overwritten by file specific options.
Spreadsheet, Remove this script only settings
Deletes the spreadsheet settings file for this script which will no longer be used. This project will now use the default settings (local, global, or program).
Opens the CL Run Options dialog and then runs the script.
Progress for each step is shown below.
If the run is in progress, this cancels the run.
Opens the log file from the previous run using the default program for .txt files (usually Notepad). Note that if the Companion pre-processor was used then the script referred to in the log file will be the .stpn file which is the expanded script after pre-processing.
View, View listing (Compiler output)
Opens the listing file from the previous run using the default program for .txt files (usually Notepad).
View, View Report (.txt)
Opens the data report file from the previous run using the default program for .txt files (usually Notepad).
View, View Tables (.txt)
Opens the fixed format tables file from the previous run using the default program for .txt files (usually Notepad).
View, View Report (.csv)
Opens the CSV data report file from the previous run using the default program for .csv files (usually Excel).
View, View Tables (.csv)
Opens the CSV tables file from the previous run using the default program for for .csv files (usually Excel).
View, View Tables (.xlsx)
Opens the spreadsheet tables file from the previous run using the default program for for Open xml format files (usually Excel).
Export, Export to Companion
Exports a previously run data stage to Companion (.qdf and .asc files) and opens the produced files in Companion.
If needed, other exports can be done using the Companion project files.
Note that RCP TIDY cannot be used if needing to export the data.

Opens the Companion script help file.
