Make grid tool window

When setting up a project this tool is used from the Entry details window to create a Grid question set and Grid variable pair for use in Grid tables.

You must complete all information for the first question in the grid question set before using this tool.

In the tool you list all the elements for the grid, putting each one in a separate line. Blank lines will be ignored.

You can paste the elements into the box using right-click or Ctrl-V.

The question showing will be used for the first element and the name will end with "_1".  If the question name does not end with "_1" this will be added when you use the "Create grid questions" button.  The remaining questions in the Grid question set will have the same name followed by "_2", "_3", and so on.

For example if the question showing is called Q5 then it will be renamed Q5_1.  The second element question will be called Q5_2, the third Q5_3, and so on.

The element texts are used in each generated question in turn by being added to the question text. If preferred, you can use ??? in the original question text and this will be replaced by the element texts.

In addition to the Grid question set which is created starting with the entry showing, Companion will also create a Grid variable pair based on the grid question set just added.

The grid question set or the grid variable pair can be used to create a grid table.

You should check the grid variable pair and change the texts as appropriate.
