Options settings

From the Main window menu [Tools] [Options] is used to enable you to set features that will be applied to every project you open:

If you have a problem you can restore the defaults using the button at the bottom.

Fonts and colours

Program fonts

You can set the font that the program is to use.

There is a separate setting for list views, including the list of entries on the Main window.

You should avoid changing the size of the font too much because this may have a detrimental effect on many of the windows.

There are separate font settings used for the data Input screens and Data Drill Down (NEW displays).

Program colours

You can set a colour for:

The colour used to highlight the row with focus, new entries will be added after (or before) this row

The colour that shows that a control value is faulty

The colour to use for program entries to make them easily distinguishable in the entry list

Programs (external)

Browser for HTML files

When the Companion has created a HTML report it will use this program to view the report.

You can [Use Default] to get the program to invoke the standard program (the one invoked if you double click or right click, Open).

You can set this to another browser program if required.

Word processor for editing HTML files

When the Companion has created a HTML report it will use this program to allow you to edit the report.

This should point to an editor program like Winword.exe.

Spreadsheet program for editing .xlsx files

When the Companion has created an OpenXML .xlsx report it will invoke this program to allow you to view and edit the report.

You can [Use Default] to get the program to invoke the standard program (the one invoked if you double click or right click, Open).

You can set this to another spreadsheet program if required.

Folders and files

Project folder

When the program is started and you then open a project, this is the folder that the File open window will start looking for the project file.

The default projects folder is:

C:\My Projects

Otherwise it will default to the users Documents folder.

You can point to any folder on the computer or accessible via the network.  

If you open another project whilst you are viewing a project then it will start looking in the same folder where the original project is stored.

Recently accessed projects

This is a file that keeps a list of projects that have recently been accessed.  The default file is:

C:\ProgramData\NetMR Ltd\IniCompanion.txt
