This is used to enter a password to be used for encryption of CATI sample data file telephone numbers.

It appears when [CATI] encryption or decryption is chosen from the Main window menu.

The password is not needed for interviewing.

The password is linked with the project key and they are stored together with an identifier in the project file.

The same project key and password must be used when adding additional sample to a project and can be used for other projects if required.

Because the correct password is needed to decrypt the telephone numbers later it is important to know which password was used. For this reason an identifier must also be supplied that is used to identify the key and password stored in the current project.

When decrypting telephone numbers the identifier in the project is shown and the correct matching password will be required.

The project key/password/identifier combination can be copied from another project file using the Main window menu [CATI] menu.
