This is the menu for the Raw CSV file view window.
Used for opening, saving and closing files:
IMPORTANT: To save the viewed data in a new sorted order you extract the file and then use Save as.
Close the file currently being viewed and open another:
•CSV file - the program will scan the front of a CSV file to determine the character used as the delimiter
•Excel workbook
•Unicode TXT file (uses tab character as the column separator)
•Simple XML file
If the file you opened is an Excel workbook with more than one worksheet, this opens Raw CSV file treatment to select a particular worksheet to view.
If the file you opened is an XML file with more than one level (tier) of data this opens Raw CSV file treatment to select the table to view.
This opens Raw CSV file treatment to change the way the CSV file is read.
The file is saved with any changes and a copy is kept in the Archive sub-folder. Only changes to the data will be used when saving, the order is unchanged even if the view has been sorted.
The changed file is saved.
Close the window. You will be prompted if the file has changed
Used to change the contents.
Used to alter the headings of the columns with Rename columns.
CSV files used with the program usually need set names as the headers, for example "Serial" or entry names used in the project.
Used to delete columns with Delete columns.
To prevent accidental changes you must set this before you can change individual cell contents.
To prevent accidental deleting of whole rows you must set this before you can delete lines.
This setting also causes the new row to appear at the bottom of the list so that new rows of data can be added.
This copies the whole data to the clipboard as viewed including any reordering of columns or sorting of rows.
Opens a new "Raw CSV file view" window with the data as viewed including any reordering of columns or sorting of rows.
Allows selected parts of the data to be viewed in another Raw CSV file view window using Data extract. Extended facilities licence needed.
