Print style spacing

The "Print style spacing" dialog box allows you to adjust the space which is left between each line of text, or the space between each character, for a print style.

These settings allow you to print more text on a page by using narrower gaps between lines and blocks of words. However, reducing either setting below 0.95 may cause blocks of text to run into each other; you should not set either value outside the range of 0.8 to 1.2.

The default line spacing ratio is 1.0 (one font line space); to alter the line spacing type a new number the [Line Spacing] box (the smaller the number the less space is left between lines).

The default character space ratio is also 1.0 (one standard font character). When the character space setting is reduced, the blank space between blocks of words will be closed up, causing the text on the page to move to the left. This is particularly useful for closing up the columns on a table, allowing more columns to be printed on the page.

Once you have entered the line and character spacing you require, use [OK] to return to the "Print Style" dialog box where the spacings will be displayed in the [Page margins and fonts] box.
