Label controls can appear anywhere in labels, except where noted later.

Label controls are specified within greater-than and less-than signs (<label control>). Some label controls consist of a single letter, and some are more elaborate.

Label controls take effect at the Print Step, and control various aspects of the computation and presentation of the tables.
