Title labels, stub labels and banner labels may be assigned to variables and tables, using the IT, VT, HT, BT, FT, XT, V, H and X commands, and these are discussed in the following sections.

Filter labels can only be assigned to variables.

Special labels can only be assigned to the names reserved for these texts, see the chapter on special texts.

For svars and mvars the V H and FL texts can be mixed with the variable definition.
