This is a small text file which contains information about all the files and settings needed to conduct and interview or enter data from paper documents.

A paper or CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interview) the [Answers] main window menu is used to create the QIF file, see Make QIF.

For CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interview) the [CATI] main window menu is used to create the QIF file, see Make QIF.

This file is opened to enter data in QPSMR Input or QPSMR Telin.

For Companion Input Input file (qpsmrinp) is used instead.

A CATI QIF file contains the names of the three data files used by the interviewer: Sample, Partial, and Main.  For this reason to get the Current data the user is asked to select the QIF file so that Companion knows which files to scan to get the latest record for each serial.
