This file type contains the information needed to enter data (questionnaires) on a project.
IMPORTANT: For live data input, please make sure that the project includes the following ZZZ session questions:
ZZZSEQ a copy of the original serial number
ZZZRAN for CAPI projects with randomised entries
ZZZUNS the Windows login name used
ZZZDTS the date the session started
ZZZTMS the time the session started
ZZZCNS the name of the computer used
An Input file (.qpsmrinp) contains:
•Key information about this Input file:
oVersion number
oProject file name that it was created from
oUser login name who created it
oDate and time it was created
▪Input options set when the file was created
▪The project entries
▪Any media files needed for a CAPI interview
This is the only file needed for entering data from paper questionnaires or conducting a CAPI interview, plus any image files used.
IMPORTANT: When you create an Input file for data collection you should keep a backup of the project file so that you have a project that relates to any data entered using it.
TIP: No licence is needed to input data for paper or CAPI projects so an Input file can be used by anyone who has access to the free Companion Input software (Windows or Android versions).
