Whenever you save a report to a file, this enables you to select the type of output for the requested report.
These reports are reached using the Main window menu, Project, Print questionnaire to file
There are various reports that can be produced with varying amount of information:
•Interview Simple: produces a document showing all the questions that could be used for paper interviewing
•Interview Locs: the same as Interviewer Simple, but also shows data locations where questions will be stored in ASCII or binary data files
•Check Simple: is used to check the project and is the same as Interviewer Simple, but also includes filter and variable definitions
•Check Locs: the same as Check Simple, but also shows data locations where questions will be stored in ASCII or binary data files
•Entry List: produces a list of all the entries in the project
•Instructions: produces a list of all questions with interviewer instructions and shows those instructions
You can choose to output:
•HTML for use with an internet browser
•XML for use with a style sheet
The HTML output is produced by converting the XML output using an XSLT style sheet file. Some XSLT files are supplied with the software and can be chosen from the list box.
You can use the Browse button to select your own XSLT file instead. This must have the extension .xslt and the file name must end with html, for example:
My_output_html.xslt
Once the file has been produced you can:
•Only make file.
•View the file after it is made
•Edit the file after it is made
The programs used for [View] and [Edit] must be set beforehand in Options settings. The relevant external program is started after output file has been created.
