These formats are used to control the total rows (at top of table) and total columns (at left of table).
NOTE: the "totals" are the number of records in each row or column, not the sum of the answers in that row or column.
This logical format replaces the label for the total row (normally "Total") by the base title (description of records included in the table).
Default value is NBTR (false). Use BTR to replace the total row label. Usually used with format NPBT.
This logical format adds a total row to the table that shows the effective sample sizes for the columns.
Default value is NESR (false). Use ESR to get the extra total row.
If the table is not weighted then the ESR figures will be the same as the unweighted figures.
This logical format shows figures in the total column of a table when format NPRC is used.
Default value is NFTC (false). Use FTC to get the figures. If the default PRC is set this format has no effect.
NOTE: if the table is weighted this format refers to the weighted figures.
This logical format shows the total column on the table that shows the number of records in each row.
Default value is PTC (true). Use NPTC to suppress the total column. If you are using format RTH (horizontal percentages) you should not normally turn off this format.
NOTE: if the table is weighted this format refers to the weighted figures.
This logical format shows the total row on the table that shows the number of records in each column.
Default value is PTR (true). Use NPTR to suppress the total row. If you are using the default format RTV (vertical percentages) you should not normally turn off this format.
NOTE: if the table is weighted this format refers to the weighted figures.
This logical format controls the values in the first two rows of a table. The first three rows (including the total row) are therefore not set by the entry used as the rows.
The default value is NTLT (not used). Use TLT to turn on.
If TLT is used then when a table incremented:
The total row is as normal
The first response is the number who are blank (empty) in the row variable
The second response is the number who are not blank (empty) in the row variable.
IMPORTANT: it is up to the user to add two empty (false) responses as the first responses in the entry used as the rows of the table. The second response will usually be marked as "Base for following".
This format has no effect if a value or text entry is used as the rows.
See also formats ANR and ANC.
This logical format shows the unweighted total column on the table that shows the actual (not weighted) number of records in each row.
Default value is NUNC (false). Use UNC to show the unweighted total column. If you are using format RTH (horizontal percentages) and weighting you should normally use this format.
NOTE: if the table is not weighted this format has no effect and the unweighted column will never be shown.
This logical format shows the unweighted total row on the table that shows the actual (not weighted) number of records in each column.
Default value is UNR (true). Use NUNR to suppress the total row. If you are using the default format RTV (vertical percentages) you should normally use this format.
NOTE: if the table is not weighted this format has no effect and the unweighted row will never be shown.
